3. Class Descriptions

The High School Sunday School class will be using a DVD/Bible Study Series this year called Liquid to study various Old and New Testament books such as Ephesians, Phillipians and Proverbs. Each week the class will use one episode from the DVD series, based on a Bible passage, to launch activities and discussion using the Liquid materials. Interspersed with this will be opportunities for the High School class to participate in the Worship service with the Praise Team, Drama performances and the end of the year Youth Service. The High School class will be led by J.P. Rader and Jack Moon.

"Live, laugh, learn!"  That's what we'll be doing in the Middle School Girls' Sunday School class this year.  We'll be studying the Bible and how it relates to our daily lives and all the issues, big and small, that challenge us each day.  We'll enjoy games, memorization, video, music and snacks too!  It's a great place to make friends, be yourself, talk about what matters and to grow in your faith.

After some fun topical Bible studies at the start of this year, the Middle School Boys Sunday school class will be exploring the exciting world of Christian music videos. Each Sunday we will be looking at the lyrics of a popular contemporary Christian song, finding verses and stories in the Bible that might have inspired the songwriter, and watching the music video. These videos and the passages we will study together are very encouraging and can strengthen the faith of all of us as we deal with the daily struggles of life in middle school.

The younger classes from grades 2-4 will continue with lessons from last year using the Biblezone Live materials from Cokesbury as their base. Each lesson includes a variety of introductory options, a core lesson/message from the bible, and a choice of activities and crafts to keep the little guys learning. Each kit also comes with a music CD to add some great tunes to keep them moving and plenty of cool props to catch the eye of any young learner. Of course, the teachers will also be on the lookout for other great ideas to pack each session with learning and fun!

JK to Grade 1

We kick start each lesson with a fun time of worship. We do lots of action songs which the kids love and this is a good way for kids at this age to express their love to God. Our lesson is based on the Sunday school kits from Abingdon's Biblezone LIVE . The theme of our lessons for this season is "In The Wilderness". We will cover stories such as Jesus in the wilderness, John the Baptist and even the battle at Jericho. Each lesson will include bible story time, activities time and prayers time. As long as your kids are born in or before year 2004, we would love to have them join us!

BETHMOORE SERIES

JOHN: The Life and Ministry of John

Beloved Disciple: The Life and Ministry of John by Beth Moore explores the life of the apostle John. Beth conveys that John had the God-given gift of seeing a larger picture and that his love relationship with Christ profoundly influenced everything he did and wrote.

As the other disciples were martyred one by one, John remained to write his sublime Gospel proclaiming Jesus' identity as the eternal Word of God. In his three letters John left a legacy of divine love to ignite the passion of future believers. And while exiled on Patmos, John recorded His risen Lord's glorious revelation of victory and hope. John referred to himself as "the disciple whom Jesus loved." Just as Christ took John on a lifelong journey into the depths of His love, He will do the same for you. The Bridegroom's love is unmatched and inexhaustible, and He is waiting to lavish it on you, His beloved.

NOOMA

We can get anything we want, from anywhere in the world, whenever we want it. That's how it is and that's how we want it to be. Still, our lives aren't any different than other generations before us. Our time is.

We want spiritual direction, but it has to be real for us and available when we need it. We want a new format for getting Christian perspectives.

NOOMA is the new format. Its short films with communicators that really speak to us. Compact, portable, and concise. Each NOOMA touches on issues that we care about, that we want to talk about, and it comes in a way that fits our world. It's a format that's there for us when we need it, as we need it, how we need it.

SERMON DISCUSSION

This is a Bible study with a focus on studying the sermon and having an open discussion using
what we hear in the morning sermon. It is informative, a way of nurturing our faith together and learning about each other's own life experiences relating to Scripture and the sermon.
